Steve is highly talented and foresightful person who cares about not only placing the right individual in the right place but also evaluates the profile match from both sides of the aisle (Employer and Candidate) to make sure they can build a long-term sustainable relationship which will assist both sides to thrive. I met Steve when I was pursuing my master’s degree in mechanical engineering from a small School in Grand Rapids, MI when I applied for internship in the company he was representing as Director of Human Resources. I did not have lot of Industry experience that time but have a very solid education background which in real world reduces the possibility of getting hired in industrial internship role as more experiences you have, the chances of getting hired increases. But Steve called me after I applied, called for in person interview with him, Director of Operations and Director of Finance. I guess I did well in the interview and landed on the job. I have worked for them over 6 years with multiple promotions and hold different leadership roles. But Steve identified me and brought me to the attention of the hiring managers to open the door for me to the industrial world. He went above and beyond after hiring me to prepare my immigration paperwork, optimized attorney cost and several other things. This is what I call it Unique about Steve. He does not treat candidates like “Candidate” rather he look for future leader and talented individual for the role he is hiring. I have hired multiple people when I was building the Engineering team and all the people I hired and stayed with me on those 6 years was hard work of Steve. I have come across very few HR professionals last 10 years who possess the same commitment, passion, and love for the job that Steve demonstrates all the time.
With being in the industry over 30 years and working for different companies with different HR leadership roles and with strong recruitment background in automotive industry Steve understands personality profile combined with education background and experience and what role fits best for what kind of background and personal profile. When I was hired as an intern Steve knew what the hiring managers were looking for (they were looking for someone they can mold their way) and looking at my resume and talking to me Steve knew what I was looking for at that time ( I was looking for some position to grow and learn). He did well on that portion as I stayed with that company and enjoyed working for them and my boss for over 6 years period of time. Steve not only brought in talented individuals in my team but also, he brought in people in Ops role who will need to be developed for ERP implementation and he understood the mechanism on what kind of candidates will survive the implementation and would embrace it and work through it to make it efficient. I would give all credit to Steve on the team building of that company where almost 20 people came on board through Steve’s hand, and all worked showing strong teamwork environment the 6 years I have been there.
